About Springer's Meats

Springer’s Meats is a true family business. Owner Walter Mueller Sr. moved to Hamilton, Ontario from his native Austria in the 1970s and started working for local meat processors, learning the ins and outs of the business first hand.

After being with Springer’s for almost a decade, Walter bought the deli and processed meat manufacturer from the Springer family in 1986.

Then, it was a small,10,000 square foot shop with 20 staff that made pizza toppings and a few deli products.

Today, we have grown to a 75,000 square foot facility with approximately 80 employees, and Walter’s wife, son, and daughter  all work for the company.

We produce about 30,000 pounds of meat products every day, of which 5,000 – 6,000 pounds alone is pepperoni.

Our production encompasses more than 250 varieties of processed meats, including pizza toppings, smoked bone-in and picnic shoulder hams, pepperoni sticks, fully-cooked smoked bacon, roast and corned beef slices, wieners and kolbassa.

We distribute across Canada and have recently expanded into the United States as well.

A strong supporter of local food, many of our products qualify for Foodland Ontario recognition.

At Springer’s Meats, we pride ourselves on customer service excellence. Our focus on time-honored craftsmanship and top quality products has garnered us a slew of awards over the years, including a recent nomination by a local newspaper as “Best Deli and Best Meat Market” in Hamilton.


The quality of our products speaks for itself. At the 2011 Ontario Finest Meat Competition, Springer’s Meats won a Platinum award for our Smoked Whole Pork Leg Ham and a Silver award for our Pork and Beef Wieners.

Over the years, Springer's Meats has won more than 20 awards in this product competition, including the grand champion prizes for Black Forest Style Ham, Summer Salami, and Kolbassa Sausage four years in a row.

In 2010, Springer’s Meats was recognized with a Meat Industry Achievement Award from the Ontario Independent Meat Processors (OIMP) for our long-standing support of the organization and Ontario’s meat industry. Read more here.

First class technology

Our top of the line processing and packing equipment – installed to help us meet Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) requirements to be able to ship our products outside of Ontario – has helped rapidly expand our business.

In addition to our own branded products as well as bulk meat production, this new technology has allowed us to grow the co-packing side of our enterprise – packing meat products under a customer’s brand to their unique specifications.

It has also helped streamline our operations and make our processes more efficient.
