print Jalapeño Cheddar Burritos
Spicy and cheesy, these Mexican inspired burritos incorporate unique tastes and textures. Use Springer's Jalapeno Cheese Infusion Sausages for best results.
Makes 4 servings.
Ingredients
4 | Springer's Jalapeno Cheese Infusion Suasages | |
4 | 10-inch (25 cm) flour tortillas | |
1 cup | shredded lettuce | 250 mL |
1 cup | plum tomatoes, diced | 250 mL |
1/2 cup | sliced avocado | 125 mL |
1/4 cup | chopped fresh cilantro | 50 mL |
2 tbsp | sour cream | 30 mL |
1/2 cup | prepared salsa | 125 mL |
Directions
Grill sausages according to the package instructions.
In a large dry skillet, over medium heat, warm the tortillas one by one, turning once, until pale golden on both sides, about 30 seconds per side.
Arrange each warmed tortilla over 4 plates. Top each with a grilled sausage. Sprinkle with lettuce, plum tomatoes, avocado, cilantro and sour cream. Fold in sides and roll up to enclose filling. Serve with salsa.
Innovative: Substitute prepared guacamole for the avocado if yours isn’t ripe and omit the sour cream.
Beer Pairing Suggestions
An Ontario India Pale Ale such as: Maclean’s Pale Ale, Heritage Brewery’s Sgt. Major IPA; or Granite’s Ringwood Ale to compliment the spicy recipe.
Tip: Warming the tortillas in a pan before rolling will bring back a “fresh baked” flavour and texture.
